Windsor Place Entry

Project Architect at Meyer & Meyer Architects

Contractor: OPUS Master Builders

This project involved the renovation and modernization of the primary residential entry at 390 Commonwealth Avenue, a historic Back Bay townhouse. The scope focused on improving functionality, durability, and accessibility while respecting the building’s original character and architectural detailing.

The existing entry suffered from dated finishes, inefficient circulation, and limited storage. The redesigned entry reorganizes the sequence from street to interior, creating a clearer sense of arrival and a more generous transition space. New millwork and finishes were carefully selected to complement the historic fabric of the building, balancing contemporary needs with traditional proportions and materials.

Particular attention was given to detailing, lighting, and material transitions to elevate what was previously a utilitarian space into a welcoming and cohesive introduction to the residence.
