Bowditch Place Cornice Restoration

The Bowditch Place Condominium project preserves and enhances the historic character of a building originally constructed as a schoolhouse and later converted into condominiums. The work included repair and selective replacement of deteriorated historic cornice elements, along with the installation of new copper gutters and downspouts to improve long-term performance. Interventions were carefully focused on areas of documented deterioration. Coordination with the Salem Historical Commission ensured approval for all work, maintaining the building’s historic integrity.
