Portsmouth Historic Restoration
MG Architects is collaborating with Port One Architects on the restoration of a late 1800s Victorian residence that had previously been subdivided into condominiums. The project includes restoration of the exterior and reconfiguration of the existing unit layouts while carefully preserving and restoring historic interior finishes and architectural character lost through past alterations. New amenities, including an elevator, will improve accessibility and long term livability for residents. MG Architects was brought on to assist with historic preservation, replication of original details, and residential detailing throughout the project. The design also includes reconstruction of a historic porte cochere that collapsed in recent years, guided by archival photographs and historical documentation to help return the home to its former character.
